If you received the summer edition of my newsletter "Home Sweet Home", I introduced the topic of Real Estate Planning - Five Part Series. In the first of the series entitled How to Save Thousands of Dollars, I touched on the subject of bringing about savings in energy costs and increasing the value of your home, by carrying out some or all of the following:
a) Replacing your windows
b) Replacing your roof
c) Improving your curb appeal

The tips provided in my newsletter were mainly to save on your energy bills and to increase the value of your home when the time came to sell it.

However, in case you are not aware of the Federal and Provincial Governments' grants programs, I would like to inform you about the Canadian Government's new "Eco-energy" program and the Ontario Government's Home Energy Retrofit Program (HERP), where you could qualify to get grants of upto $5000 in both the programs.
